It was a blessing on you and Dr. Feingold that he was moved to mentor you in seeking the safe port out of the current of atheistic materialism. I'm an intellectual myself, and have always appreciated the positive side of a 'dialectical' process in conversation. But I've long been wary of the liberation-theological trend - striking me as a cover for neoMarxist application of a Hegelian dialectic - in Catholic education across North America and likely elsewhere, if the outcomes in Germany are anything to go by. The pseudo-philosophical 'school' of this is found in the Frankfurt 'higher criticism' among other movements now converging in the religion of Woke. The reduction of the salvific gospel to a political program of reset, however ethical-sounding, boils down to a sellout from the truth that sets you free. Therefore I appreciated your dwelling on Adrian Vermeule's savvy remark that the lane between orthodoxy and the spirit of the world is a slippery slope. We cannot scale it, or remain steadfast without constant cooperation with grace, and I am edified to know you've been doing just that. May the Lord be always at your side.

This was an interesting read. Thank you for sharing. I'm an Atheist, but as someone who was once in RCIA myself (though did not end up swimming Tiber) I always appreciate reading people's conversion stories and the reasons for their epistemic shifts to one worldview or another.
